I was messing with Office '97 a bit for my Office Binder 2003 and Office Binder 2007 projects and I realized just how cool the icons in Office '97 are. When it seems like every new program suite is simplifying their icons, often to the point of becoming ugly (Adobe CS3 anyone?) it was refreshing to see a nice icon that had alot going on for it, but at the same time wasn't too busy. Now don't get me wrong, Office 2003 and Office 2007 have fine looking icons, but something about these old '97 icons is just extra cool. So, I thought I'd take the style of the old icons and modernize them with larger sizes, anti-aliasing, more color, and the main part of the icon updated to the new colors of the Office suite. Since Publisher wasn't part of Office '97 I scouring the internet for a nice example of the Publisher '98 icon to include as well.
New icons for appliations look a bit too flash more my taste too. These are just too look at. Very clean and to the point. I'll be using them for open office

Glad you like them. I've been meaning to test OpenOffice. I have an old PIII system that could use an office suite, and I don't think I want to install Office '97 on it and I don't have any extra licenses for Office 2003 or Office 2007 so they are out.
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
